first_img By admin – February 5, 2018 WhatsApp WhatsApp Pinterest Twitter Twitter Man charged with burglary, sexual assault Facebook Local NewsCrime Pinterest Facebook Julian Gerald Rodrigue A man was charged by police Thursday after he reportedly broke into his ex-common law wife’s apartment and sexually assaulted her in the bedroom while their children were there.The 26-year-old complainant told police on Dec. 14 she had been sexually assaulted by her ex-common law husband, 26-year-old Julian Gerald Rodriguez, according to a probable cause affidavit.She told police Rodriguez had sent her a text message on the day of the incident asking if he could come over and see his two children, but she denied his request and told him he would see them the following day per visitation orders, the report stated.The complainant then told police that while she was in the bathroom a few minutes later, Rodriguez had entered the apartment when one of her children opened the door for him.After fighting Rodriguez off and running into the bathroom, Rodriguez chased after her and pinned her arms behind her back, the report stated, and then locked the bedroom door and sexually assaulted her.She told police Rodriguez had demanded she allow him to see his children on Christmas, and released her after she agreed to his demands, the affidavit said. As Rodriguez was leaving the apartment, he reportedly told her “I’m just trying to make it work.”A warrant was issued for Rodriguez and OPD later charged him with aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony, and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, a first-degree felony.Jail records show Rodriguez was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Friday and has two bonds totaling $200,000.
