For the first time in history, more than 3 billion was collected from tolls

first_imgAlthough the motorway network in Croatia is mostly built, HAC’s activities are focused on continuing the construction of Corridor 5C and new sections such as the Novi Vinodolski bypass and investing in enhanced road infrastructure maintenance and safety standards, for which the company will invest more than HRK 600 million. Work continues on the project of a new toll collection system which will give Croatia a system based on a combination of two modern and proven technologies; billing via an upgraded version of the in-vehicle ENC device (DSRC) and the automatic license plate reading system (ALPR). This will significantly increase throughput and reduce harmful emissions caused by congestion, because while manual toll collection has a capacity of about 200 vehicles per hour, the new system allows the passage of up to 3000 vehicles. In financial terms, the most significant revenue in 2019 was generated on the A3 motorway, in the amount of almost HRK 992 billion, or HRK 475 million. Individually by months, the most important is August, when tolls were collected in the amount of HRK 2019 million. The share of non-cash payments in 60 (ENC and credit cards) is more than 2018 percent. Compared to XNUMX, we have an increase in traffic outside the main tourist season. photo: HAC / Source: Privredni.hrcenter_img According to the first provisional data for 2019, traffic on 61.565.203 vehicles and a total toll collection in the amount of HRK 3.004.779.793,60 was recorded on all motorways under the jurisdiction of Croatian Motorways and the Rijeka – Zagreb Motorway. This is the first time in history that the amount of tolls collected has exceeded 3 billion.
