MSD backs five divisions, one series in 15th season of IMCA sponsorship

first_imgEL PASO, Texas – MSD returns to the national decal program for Stock Cars in 2018, its 15th season as an IMCA sponsor.In all, the El Paso, Texas, manufacturer will give product or product certificate awards to competitors in five divisions and one special series.“MSD Performance, is once again a proud sponsor of IMCA Racing for the 2018 season,” said Circle Track Sales Manager Graham Fordyce. “The growth we see in these divisions is a testament to the sanctioning body’s dedication to the sport and we want to be a part of that growth in the circle track racing market.  We strive to continually improve the products we offer to the circle track industry and to provide support to the competitors for their achievements.”The top drivers in Northern and Southern IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regions earn Ultimate HEI kits and a universal spark plug wire set. Runners-up receive an HEI module and the third place finishers get universal spark plug wire sets. Product certificates valued at $100 go to top 10 drivers in point standings both regions.Top eligible drivers in each of the five IMCA Modified regions receive new 6CT digital ignition control boxes and Blaster HVC coils; the runner-up gets a 6CT ignition control box while third and fourth place drivers get universal spark plug wire sets and the fifth place driver receives a Blaster HVC coil.An 8728 Soft Touch rev control goes to the top eligible driver in the national Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod standings. Universal spark plug wire sets go to second and third place drivers in both divisions.Top three eligible drivers in national point standings for IMCA Late Models and in the Deery Brothers Summer Series standings receive a digital 6CT ignition control box, spark plug wire set and Blaster HVC coil, and universal plug wire set, respec­tively.Drivers in all five divisions are required to compete with MSD products, display two MSD decals on their race car and send sign-up forms to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1. GOtv Boxing Night 15: I’ll Destroy Iberu, Fijaborn Boasts

first_imgReigning African Boxing Union (ABU) welterweight champion, Olaide “Fijaborn” Fijabi, has vowed to finish off Kazeem “Iberu” Ariyo, his opponent for the national light welterweight challenge bout slated for GOtv Boxing Night 15 on 29 July.The bout, which is the second one between the two boxers, is one of the seven scheduled to hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo (formerly Liberty) Stadium in Ibadan.The former national welterweight champion boasted that his opponent will fall in the first round. “I have defeated him before and I know what to do to defeat him again. I am a knockout specialist and Iberu will be knocked out in the first round,” Fijaborn bragged.The biggest fight on the night is the African Boxing Union (ABU) lightweight title bout between Ghanaian challenger, Nathaniel Nukpe, and reigning king of the division, Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph.Other bouts on the card at the event include the cruiserweight clash between Michael “Lion Heart” Godwin and Idowu “ID Cabasa” Okusote, international light middleweight contest between Akeem “Dodo” Sadiku of Nigeria and Franc Houanvoegbe of Benin Republic.The event, sponsored by GOtv and Bet King, will be beamed live on SuperSport in 47 African countries.
